Aesthetics
Caroline:
Modern:
Modern can be characterized by being trendy and fashionable. It is a type of statement to make you look smart and striking. All modern style fashionistas make sure to choose well tailored, stylish designs that are pretty and classy. Strong colors which are not extravagant, comes as a part of the modern style. It can be casual but not too casual. If you are part of this style, your wardrobe is a symbol of style.
This kind of style involves mostly black and white pieces. You may also see some other not so loud and subtle colors but it is all class and ecstatic elegance with nothing over the top.
Sophisticated:
This style is for people who prefer everything at best quality. They often look for styles that make a statement on the quality, polished manner and culture side of fashion. Most of them are the ones who are from higher status and are also in a way related to how a businesswoman would dress up. Sophisticated can be characterized as businesswoman minus the formal look. Culture and luxury mean the most to the people who choose this style of fashion
Femme:
This style is all about the girl in you. This is characterized by the color pink as well as accessories. This style includes skirts, blouses, and dresses in cute ruffles and bows, laces, and flounces.
Kelsey:
Relaxed:
Relaxed is a combination of elegance and comfort. This simple style is one of the most sought after fashion styles as of now. None of the exotic and bold items will be in the wardrobe of a woman who follows casual fashion. They would prefer to put on a white T-Shirt and black leggings. The relaxed look is simple and matching accessories with whatever the simple clothing they are wearing is a must!
Casual:
This is more of a formal style and it is better if we term it as business casuals. The casuals are still perfectly fine for a business meeting and office events. While men wear a blazer with matching pants with a formal shirt and sometimes a tie, women can wear slacks and skirts with proper tunics or blouses with a matching jacket. I recommend you keep enough business casuals in your collection for every occasion as they won’t fail to impress the onlookers anywhere you go.
Edgy:
Edgy is style trend that makes a style statement of their own. This involves very bold and/or bright colors, with exaggerated prints. The clothes would usually have unusual silhouettes and some weirdly unique shapes. Most of it is handcrafted and is homemade. Edgy is a style that is much about creativity. It can be an outfit that you can think of and quickly make out of a piece of fabric you already have. Or you can be simply wearing a creative idea of some artsy designer.
Dramatic:
Dramatic is a style with Vintage T-Shirts, ripped jeans and leather jacket. It is one of the most versatile style of fashion which keeps changing depending on the person’s mood. There are no baggy apparels in this style. Most of the clothes chosen are a tad bit smaller in size. It all depends on the wearer.
Meaning of Clothes Minded Teachers
Being a clothes minded teacher does not mean you are closed minded. It means that you are able to feel comfortable in the clothes you wear.
Mission
“You can never be overdressed or overeducated'“- Oscar Wilde
Here at Clothes Minded Teachers our mantra that we live by is a famous quote by Oscar Wilde. We don’t need to be casual. We can always be fashion forward. This drives our mission that if we feel confident and comfortable in the classroom, we show others to embrace and collaborate with our styles. We hope with this that the Clothes Minded Teachers community can embrace this confidence and embrace our looks in the classroom and out of the classroom.
We can make a difference by providing the knowledge and sharing the information that we know and love to create a space that is accessible.
Purpose
To inspire, collaborate and create a lifestyle concept with fashion and education. We believe that our everyday fashion in the classroom can be cute and appropriate for teaching.
Story
Wearing cute fashion has always been a passion for the creators, Caroline and Kelsey. Whether you are in-person teaching in the classroom or virtual teaching at home, we have some fashion for you.
Clothes Minded Teachers became Caroline’s and Kelsey’s project during the Covid-19 lockdown.
They both graduated from Kutztown University receiving their Bachelor’s degree in Special Education Visual Impairments and Early Education. Caroline and Kelsey both live in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
“I think Clothes Minded Teachers is more so of a lifestyle. We choose our own outfits that match our style inside and outside of the classroom” Kelsey says.
“Clothes Minded Teachers is accepting and celebrating your own style and the style of others. We allow other teaching professionals a platform to share their own ideas of ‘teacher fashion’ that can go outside the idea of the ‘typical’ teacher clothes".” Caroline says.
